I’m Olivier Darbonville.
I’ve always been a passionate bookworm, drawn to the worlds found within pages. For the past 20 years, I’ve channeled that love into my work as a freelance book designer.
My journey began in 1996, when I created my first "design" using Microsoft Word for a school magazine. Since then, much has changed—technology, software, trends—but my passion for design has remained constant, continually shaping my career.
I specialize in book interiors because of my deep love for books. It’s no coincidence that I became a book designer; as a lifelong reader, books are where I find inspiration and creativity. Just as an author brings a story to life, it’s my job to present it beautifully. After all, no one wants to see a stunning creation dressed poorly. A well-designed book doesn’t just hold a story—it invites readers in with elegance and style.
I began designing as a hobby, now it is a passion for me.
